As expected, Samsung has taken advantage of the August 7 event to introduce its Note range: the new Galaxy Note 10 and the new model, and a premium model called it the Galaxy Note 10+.
In this article we will analyze whether it is worth replacing the Galaxy Note 9 with its updated version, or if this time the Korean company has not introduced a lot of new features.
The E Galaxy Note 10 has been announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event on August 7, but its official launch will not take place until August 23. We do not have an official price at the time of writing this comparison, but it may be € 999.
Although we will have to wait a few weeks to get the Note 10, Samsung has already opened the period to reserve it from its page. Once it goes on sale, you can find it in stores such as Amazon, FNAC or El Corte Ingles.
While the Note 10 does not come, and even after its launch, you can buy the Note 9 at a much cheaper price. For example, in Amazon Spain, you can find it for € 755, while in Amazon Mexico they sell it for $ 14,199.
There have also been changes in the internal components, although that was to be expected in a range like the Galaxy Note. Thus, the new processors are the Exynos 9825 (Europe) or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (America).
In addition, the Note 10 comes with 8 GB of standard RAM, while storage is now 256 GB and not expandable. This surprises and more considering that the Note 9 could be purchased with 128 GB or 512 GB and was compatible with microSD cards.Samsung Galaxy Note
It is also interesting to see the changes in the cameras. Samsung has decided to introduce a triple configuration in the Note 10, with a wide angle of 12 MP (f / 1.5-2.4), an ultra wide angle of 16 MP (f / 2.2) and a telephoto lens of 12 MP (f / 2.1).
In Note 9, however, we found only two rear cameras of 12 MP (f / 1.5-2.4) and 12 MP (f / 2.4). The selfie camera has also been improved, with a 10 MP front lens (f / 2.2) instead of the 8 MP lens (f / 1.7) of the Note 9.
Not surprisingly, Samsung has opted to incorporate support for 5G telephony in the Note 10, since it is now fashionable in the sector. It is also compatible with WiFi 6, NFC, GPS and Bluetooth 5.0.
With the Note 10, the company also wanted to boost the S-Pen with a superior battery autonomy and the possibility of controlling the camera, the photo gallery or the music player with the stylus.

The Galaxy Note 9 was released with Android 8.1 Oreo and Samsung’s Experience 9.5 interface. Although not as sophisticated as the Android stock version of other models such as the Pixel 3a, it has an elegant and easy-to-use design.Samsung Galaxy Note
On the other hand, the Note 10 will include Android 9.0 version with Samsung’s One UI skin. This interface is a lot more sophisticated than the Note 9. In addition, the company has worked with Microsoft to improve the integration between Mobile and Windows 10.
Long ago, Note mobiles seemed very large compared to “normal” smartphones , but now their dimensions are similar to those of most Android devices. And more now that the Note 10 is more compact than the Note 9.
Thus, while the Note 9 measures 161.2 x 76.4 x 9 mm, the Note 10 is somewhat smaller with dimensions of 151 x 71.8 x 7.9 mm. The new flagship also weighs less: 168 g compared to 205 g of Note 10.
The manufacturing quality of the Note 10 remains excellent. The metal frame holds a glass back and the Dynamic AMOLED screen 6.3 inches in front, which is somewhat smaller and has less resolution than the Note 9 panel.Samsung Galaxy Note
All this means that Samsung has opted this time for the selfie camera embedded in a screen hole as it already did with the S10 range. Those who prefer a completely ready screen should bet on Note 9.
Other differences between Note 9 and Note 10 are found in features such as the headphone jack port , the Bixby button, the heart rate monitor and the microSD slot, some hardwareoptions that are no longer in the new model.
Of course, luckily Samsung has decided to keep the hole in which you can store your S-Pen and is located right next to the USB C charging port. The fingerprint sensor is on the back, although you can also use facial recognition.
The new Galaxy Note 10 has a more compact and refined design than last year’s model, and all this being also a more powerful mobile and with a front part that is practically only screen (6.3 inches).
Of course, to achieve this incredible screen-to-body ratio, Samsung has had to get rid of the headphone jack port and the microSD card slot, something that those who have been users of the Note range for some time will not like.
If you settle for a smaller mobile and that deviates a bit from what Samsung has accustomed us with the Note, then the Note 10 is ideal for you. If this is not your case, better bet on the 2018 model.
