Apple Releases New Versions of iOS, iPadOS, WatchOS, and tvOS Today
It was announced by Tim Cook yesterday at the end of the presentation event for the new Apple Watch and iPads. New versions of (almost all) your operating systems arrive today, September 16. That’s it: iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS 7, and tvOS 14.
It is not surprising that Apple has launched the new iterations of watchOS and iPadOS considering that this Friday we will have two wearables and two new tablets in the Apple store, already available to buy in advance.
But it also makes all the sense in the world that the company has decided to launch iOS 14 at the same time, as it is necessary to enjoy the latest features of watchOS 7. To have them on your Apple Watch, you also need to have an iPhone compatible with iOS 14 .
Among the main novelties, there is a new collection of more customizable spheres that can be shared with others, as well as a new function to monitor sleep and thus have greater control over your health.
With the new iOS 14, those with a compatible iPhone will be able to take advantage of the new widgets , also available in iPadOS 14. It also introduces the Picture-in-Picture function to be able to use a second app when you play a video.
Apple is also launching the latest version of the Apple TV operating system today, aiming to welcome the new Fitness + service and the Apple One subscription package. Unfortunately, on the other hand, we will have to wait for the arrival of macOS Big Sur.
But it is not all bad news. That Apple hasn’t released it yet means we’ll have new Macs before the year is out. We would be surprised if it was expected next year to release the new macOS or if it did so without being accompanied by new computers. If so, why haven’t you launched it already?
